Volunteers from the New London, Manawa and Clintonville Fire Departments search the Wolf River for a drowning victim in New London Saturday. The body of David Menting, age 47, was recovered near his canoe at 8:10 p.m. Saturday night, Nov. 8.

New London’s top performers and team point earners throughout the year have been two sophomores and this meet was no different. Taylor Crain and Taylor Kindschy turned in season best times in three of four individual events.
Dalton Kent shot his first deer during the weekend of the T-zone hunt. Dalton is 12 years old and a 7th grader at New London Middle School. His Dad, Steve, built a stand with him this year.

Hortonville High School Fine Arts Department will present the musical, “Once On This Island” next weekend, Nov. 13-16. A folk tale with Caribbean style music, it is a shorter than the normal musical, about 1:45 minutes, plus an intermission. Performances are at 7 p.m. and a Sunday afternoon matinee starts at 3 p.m. Tickets are $8.50 for adults. Student and senior citizens pay $6 for Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
